Acceptance of terms

By using HashForge's tools, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please don't use the site.

The service

HashForge provides free, browser-based tools for computing cryptographic and general-purpose hashes (including MD5, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, and bcrypt), for salting values, for verifying bcrypt hashes, and for looking up hashes against a dictionary of common passwords. The service is provided "as is," free of charge, with no account required.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site to attempt to access, crack, or compromise any account, system, or data that you do not own or do not have explicit authorization to test. The dictionary lookup tool is provided for education and for checking your own values, not for use against third-party systems or credentials.

No warranty

While we've built these tools using well-established, independently maintained cryptographic libraries, we make no guarantee that any output is free of errors, or that any particular hashing scheme is appropriate for your specific security requirements. You are responsible for evaluating whether a given algorithm and configuration meets your own security, compliance, and regulatory obligations.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HashForge and its operators are not liable for any damages, direct or indirect, arising from your use of — or inability to use — this site, including any security incident, data loss, or breach connected to a hashing decision made using information from this site.

Third-party services

This site may display third-party advertising (e.g. Google AdSense) and use third-party analytics. Your interaction with those services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies in addition to ours.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms from time to time; continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
